I wonder if the deleted/corrupted games that don't show up on the Home Menu are still visible on the SD card. Maybe they'd be invisible normally, because they were supposed to be deleted (which I tried doing by freeShop, but they didn't actually free up space so they must still be there)? Perhaps if I show hidden files...? No one has had this problem before, have they?

Testing the new card now...so far so good. SanDisk cards usually last a good many years right? I am putting a lot of data on it.

Wow, I wasn't expecting this! So as I'm copying the files off the old SD card, Windows is actually recognizing that they are indeed corrupted. So I will skip the copying of those files. You think that's it? Maybe I've contained the corruption in one place and the backup I'm making right now will be fine?

Ahm...so. The test finished without errors for the card. But I guess the corrupted files didn't copy over. I have no idea if I'm okay or not. I'm still going to use the new SD card. But...was the old one just fine this whole time? How was stuff getting corrupted?

Okay, so. I have no idea what happened, but copying everything but the files Windows recognized as faulty fixed my 3DS. I had to redownload some things but not all. I believe that SanDisks are more stable and less prone to corruption so I needed to do this anyway. I'll keep this thread open for a bit so I can monitor this thing and see if anything happens, but otherwise I think the problem is miraculously solved. Thanks to everyone for your inputs, I could not love this community any more than I do now!
