My GamePad is messed up, so I can't really access things such as the Wii U internet browser or even the internet settings.

However, I do have the homebrew channel set up in vWii mode. I know that vWii mode can somehow access the Wi-Fi Wii U mode would use: does anyone know how to create an app that allows modifying the internet settings for the console in vWii mode or know of/know how to make a custom version of the default one from a Wii that makes it safely work on Wii U?

Also, does anyone know of custom versions of Wii apps like the internet channel or YouTube that work on Wii U safely?

Thanks in advance.

P.S. Also, I'm not putting this in the homebrew request thread: that's dead.

Vwii doesn't have access to Wii U settings or files - that's an illusion created by the Wii U operating system copying the appropriate settings to Wii format just before every Vwii start! (That's also true of DSi and 3DS in their backwards compatibility modes)

You can use an homebrew Wii network settings editor just fine - if it exists, which I am not sure of (which is pretty much the only major feature missing from Waninkoko's "Wii Config"), but the effect will be undone on every launch (maybe only from the official Wii U launcher?

No, because all Wii official applications (as opposed to IOS, CIOS, MIOS, BC, nor the Wii Menu) already work fine on Vwii

Recently, @Uumas pointed out the existence of drc-sim, which seems to emulate a Wii U gamepad through a PC. Might be worth a shot if your gamepad is done for. I never tried it myself since my gamepad works just fine. I wouldn't try to play a game with it, but it might be enough to change settings or use the internet browser.

Ah, I had seen that before. Unfortunately, I don't have a Linux OS. But, thanks anyway.

Sorry for my own lack of knowledge.
Could you please tell me what type of file these official applications would be so I can know what to seach for (the .??? in "wii internet channel [.???] download")?

The internet channel is a drm-free download, so you can obtain it via NUS Downloader
Youtube isn't, so you will have to dump it from a Wii that has it installed (using homebrew like BlueDump Mod), or pirate it from someone else who has done the same (with the risk of it not being what is claimed to be)

In either case you will have a WAD file, that can be installed with appropriate homebrew ("Some Yawmm Mod")
