Apple GameCenter on iPhone 3G

Yeah, yeah, i know that there are ways to do what i ask; that is, install gamecenter on a 3G.
from the 2 or 3 (ACTUAL) different tutorials i have read and followed, i got close; installed the app through adding various components on the iphone... then there was the "install through cydia"... which for whatever reason i cant get working...

modmyi.com is already preinstalled as a source so, not sure what they are talking about there.... tried another repository (forget which), and that just did not want to add... some sort of error there too.
since modmyi was already preadded, i tried looking for the app via the cydia search, and got nothing (but a hdr enabler for ipod touch 4G)... i am really going crazy with this, i thought it was going to be simple, but apparently i have no idea what i am doing... its really bugging me.

anyone help? please?

ok ok, figured half of this out... got gameceter installed fine via the non-cydia method.
wanting to know if anyone got it working via the cydia installer...

If you're willing to pay $0.99, I believe the app "MyOS" can do that. But I think its just a .plist tweak, which you could do by SSHing into your iPhone, dumping the file, editing it, and copying back. All the other tweaks in MyOS are like that I believe (its a waste of money IMO, there are already Cydia packages for most of those things anyway)

EDIT: And I know you got it working already, but this is more for anyone else reading this topic...

EDIT: Oh, its actually more complicated in this case, my bad. I thought it'd be the same as MyOS's other "tweaks".

did you actually try that tutorial? because i did... and it doesnt work.
for one of probably a few reasons.

the best reason i could find is that it didnt work properly and it deleted multitasking and whatnot if it had been enabled via jailbreak... beyond that, i have no idea why the package doesnt exist any more (or at least i cant find it).

also this;

Step-2: Start ‘Cydia’ on your jailbroken iPhone 3G(S) iOS 4.0.1 springboard.

its actually "safer" doing it this way.

to show i havnt gone crazy, there are some peolpe here who have the same issue with the HDR/GameCenter not appearing in cydia
