Hacking G6 Lite and passcard

Hi,

I'm planning to buy a DSL in the next few days. I was looking for a nice backup device and found out the G6 Lite which looks awesome.
However, even after reading a whole bunch of posts, reviews and so on, I still can't figure out if a passcard is absolutely necessary on a non flashed DSL.

If someone could explain what I will not be able to do without a passcard (like the Passcard3), I would be grateful.

Yes, it is necessary. Unless you only want to use it for GBA. Without a pass device you can't operate in NDS mode.

Not really.

If you have a friend that has a flashed DS you can do the bios swap trick and install flashme that way.
