Sorry if this isn't the right board, but figured this would be closest.

So as we all know, the NES Classic Mini will be releasing with 30 games, most of which are actually really good games. Regardless, there are MANY titles that are being missed, and would make great additions to the console. Personally, I would love River City Ransom, Ninja Garden 2, and Dragon Warrior.

My request is this:

Upon release, finding out how to play other NES titles on the hardware.
Hopefully, there is a form of removable memory to introduce new files.

Wrong section and people how no idea how the system works as of yet wait till release before you ask for features.

What section would you suggest?

And I made this request mostly to garner community interest in hacking it

You would need solder skills for swapping the ROM chip it will have, as there are no ways of adding more games according to Nintendo in an interview with Kotaku.

I mean, it looks cool. Was disappointed that it doesn't support the original carts (shitty controllers aside, the Mega Drive Mini.. which does, is kinda neat) But, after the quality of the NES Emulator the Wii U uses, I've not really got high hopes for this or it having that much compatibility outside the titles it comes bundled with. I can't even justify to myself anymore than 6 separate purchases of Super Mario Bros. is somehow acceptable too.

It did remind me that I wanted to make a Retro Pie complete with fancy (or shoddy, depends on how things go) casing though.

Seeing as this thing is HDMI only, what do you reckon are the chances of the European version being full speed 60Hz?

was thinking the same, wondering how it will look

a pre order price of £49.95 is tempting, but not convinced atm

i would like one (mainly just to teardown and see if the storage is read/writable-able and if its possible to swap the games :P), but couldn't justify £50 on something i already own....hopefully it sells really well so they end up on ebay in January for cheap :creep:......although i guess the usual nintendo scalpers will be hijacking all these to to create a false sense of rarity and value

After researching what I could about it, it seems like it's only worth getting as an awesome small replica of the console looking brand new.

But not very much in the practicality department compared to current solutions.
