hey!
I bricked my wii ages ago, trying to downgrade, but when i tried to install the menu, it said access denied. so i tried it again, it worked, then crashed, with a load of code on the screen, i restarted but now all i have is a black screen.
Any help would be highly appreciated
thanks!!

Sorry, what do u mean. i bricked it in about 2011, and how would i know if i have bootmii on boot 2?

But is there any ther way of getting into bootmii, i installed it, i just cant remember if it was boot2 or other...

Allrright,

This is going to be complex but here we go. My friends wii is the victim.
He downloaded HBC via Bannerbomb. He asked me to get stuff onto it.
I put wiiflow, HBB, and a modded usb loader gx to play gc backups.
This night was like any other. However, my friend accidentally opened the Internet Channel and updated his system to v. 4.3 U. I tried to bring it back down to a moddable version (3.0 U). I tried doing this via WiiMod.

This is where the trouble begins.

I did it, but it would not work (AKA: A full brick.) . What do you guys reccomend I do?

P.S. I do not know if he installed Priiloader or any of that stuff.
(Please give any tips as to how to fix it)

You killed it, and it can only be fixed if you have a bootmii nand.bin or the nand keys. If you don't have that, there is nothing you can do. If you do have a bootmii nand backup or nand keys, only a nand programmer can fix it.

You installed it on IOS254. No, there is no way to get into bootmii.

Never downgrade Wii to anything lower than 3.4. Anything lower than 3.4 and you run into risk of full brick.

In fact it is wise to never downgrade Wii at all.

Unless you have bootmii with NAND dump, you are out of luck.

yes, don't downgrade, it's useless at best, fatal at worst
all versions are modable, 4.3 too
in fact you need to mod it in order to do the stupid downgrade

either work with deadlyfoez or buy your friend a new wii

Well I got extremely lucky. My friend's friend is selling his wii for $20, half of what this DeadlyFoez guy wants.

Wow, thats sounds a little rude. You make it sound like I am ripping people off. I do a repair service and thats my price and well over $200 people have used my service without a single complaint. Please try not to sound so rude next time.

I dearly apologize. I have been freaking out about this by the time of my first post. I really want to fix my friends wii cauz' I feel so guilty about "bricking" it. I have done my research, and none of this reboot stuff makes sense. I must do my best, though. I do not want to become enemies with one of my best friends :(. So, once again, I dearly apologize. I do not mean to insult you. I am very noob at all of this, hense my username "ubernoob87".

Now that is over with,
I have heard rumors during my research that Nintendo would not be able to find out that I had Homebrew material on it. According to the website I read (I cant remember the link though), If I sent it in, they would fix it and send it back, no problem. Is this true?

Do you REALLY want to take that chance with Nintendo? There have been PLENTY of reports of Nintendo refusing to do repairs because they found illegal softmods on the console. Of you want to try that route then please feel free but you are likely to be wasting a few weeks of your effort.

I have a 2-3 days turn around time for my work. If time is of the essence then you might want to think about what really matters here.

It does not matter to me. I offer my services as a community service. I'm not hurting for money, but I do not work for free.

Then again, I did not change anything. I only added stuff to HBC. Most if not all of my hacked stuff is on an SD card or flash drive. I did not put a custom wii menu on it, so I have no worries.

Go ahead, Ubernoob87, send it in to Ninty and see what you get.
DeadlyFoez knows his shit, and is giving you a heads up based on experience
Yes, I completely agree with you. However, I am trying to analyze the most cost effective way to fix it.
I will admit, for $40 fixing a wii... That has to be the best deal I have seen across the net. Besides, learning NAND programming would be to hard anyway. I mean, I am willing to learn, but I just dont know where to start. I will most more than likely rely on DeadlyFoez in the end, though.
Sorry if I sound pessimistic or rude. Its just that I am not in sound mind right now; I am trying to plan 3 steps ahead without seeing the wall in front of me. Balencing college and a bricked wii is difficult.

I hate to be mean to anybody, but does anyone know of any good websites that talk about
NAND backups and stuff like that? This website is great, but an easier tutorial maybe?

The thing is this: I remember my friend got an NAND backup but not so sure whether he put priiloader or whatnot. Is there any way to check at this point in time?

(I am so stubborn! I really want to try to fix his wii for as little as possible. Even if it mean I have to learn NAND programming!)
