Homebrew fso open file failed wii u

Hello there lovely people,

I am trying to softmod my wii u using the browser exploit here is the guide I followed:
The error I get is fso open file failed after I click on the link in the wii u's browser. I have used a bunch of different SD cards and micro SD cards. I have tried cleaning my SD card slot but I don't think that's the issue, when I try and save a picture of a Mii to the SD card it tells me it's read only, the system can detect when the card is there and when it's not.

I don't know where I'm going wrong here and the inter-web doesn't have a clear answer to this either.

Please see and read through the below thread to mod your wii u however do note most exploit websites are trial and error and you are recommended to install the hbl channel directly to your menu as soon as you have access. You may have to google a good few access links to find one that works.

nusspli by @V10lator . I've never used it, but that's how you'd do that. download and install directly to the wiiu from the wiiu.
