Its an transfer app. You transfer the file then install. Once transfer and install is done then it will be like socketpunch but for the wiiu

Custom DNS' aren't an issue, the app can simply change them temporarly or use the NNU patcher method, also freeshop came out almost a year after A9LH first iteration and 5 years into the 3ds' life cycle, the wii u is only 4 years old so another year to wait or just hope Cruel has enough interest in making a version for the wii u lol

Until the servers close or become inaccessible for whatever reason, then they start crying (on public forums)

A widely accepted euphemism and justification for the ability to pirate is "backups", so please do your best to make sure in 20 years X or 3D World will still be installable

the reason there isnt an app like this is just no one has made it... it would need to verify storage space on your storage type and things like this..

I don't thing TheCruel will be working on a Freeshop like app for the Wiiu anytime soon considering he was just hit with a DMCA notice from Nintendo just 2 days ago. The github has been taken down. I'm not sure if he really wants to fight that battle.

You say he didn't break copyright but then admit he did.
It isn't a scummy move. Homebrew development is always in the grey area and FreeShop ended up to deep into the black area.

please notice the word "apart", yes it was used heavily for piracy the same way utorrent is on pc but you don't see steam DMCA'ing utorrent do you?

But uTorrent is completely legal with all original assets (and if others are use then they likely have permissions).
FreeShop is using copyrighted assets without permission.
You can't compare them.

freeshop used 1 copyrighted asset, which almost 80% of homebrew was using until nintendo scared the bajesus out of them, FBI and almost all titles on Title.db just to name a few. "The shopping bags" as people call them have nothing to do with the DMCA, it would be counted under parody

It doesn't matter. One asset is stolen. They have all the right in the world to DMCA freeshop because of that one asset

of course they have the right to, it's just that it was such a minor offence that almost all homebrew broke at the time, they didn't DMCA any other homebrew or even give cruel a warning to change it so clearly they want to fuck with him
