In the Freeshop there is an option to download the home mine themes as a DLC donwload. But when you do it, you can't choose which ones you want to have, you can only download all of them at once. The problem is, that the 3ds Themes Manager has a limit on how many themes it can store, so you have delete most of them (which is very tedious because you can only delete them one at a time) before you can choose your theme. Is there a workaround to download specific themes from the Freeshop or is there another app from that (I'm interested in the original themes, not user made themes from Themes)

You need to find them packed as separate themes. It won't work if you dll them from shop. Check THAT ISO site

Don't use official themes, use homebrew app like Anemone3DS and scan whatever you want from themes site like using qr codes.

www.themeplaza.eu/themes

If you are interested in official themes, someone uploaded the files of them in the ISO site, you can use chmm or Anemone3DS to install those themes and they won't go when you enter the eshop.

LOL! I feel like you tried downloading the home menu themes through FreeShop and found out the hard way about the 3DS' hard limit on home menu themes! Me too! ^_^

Yeah, it's pretty much just there for the sake of completeness. All themes have the same title ID, so, installing the title literally installs all of them. That wasn't such a bad thing back when there was less than 100 to choose from. Now, you either want to use a theme manager (and conversions of the official themes), or the DIY option that creates a custom pack containing just the themes you want.

FYI, the same applies to all other DLC downloads. You download the DLC title, you get ALL DLCs for the game that are on the server. This is a double-edged sword, because it can often get you content that has not been released yet. Which is cool in a way, but if you don't know, and play it online, it can get you banned. So, if you're planning to use DLC online, either make sure it's for an older title that's no longer receiving updates, or look for a DLC CIA that only contains the content that is actually available for purchase. This does not seem to have been very well thought out on Nintendo's part, to say the least.

I had the same problem with the home menu dlc. I'm now using amemone but it stops downloading themes after i scanned and downloaded 6.. Can't figure out why that keeps happening. A restart of anemone fixes the issue but it's very annoying. Any suggestions would be appreciated

The workaround is this:

Download them all in free shop by clicking the DLC option under home menu
Once downloaded delete all of the themes using free shop (using the rubbish bin icon) - Wait for it to fully complete
Now you can go into the official theme store, navigate to the previously purchased area and you can redownload the ones you want.

I have tried this on Freeshop 3.1.7 and it doesn't work
