Awesomely useless, seeing you can't download anymore Mercury from PSN without upgrading to 6.20.
And this exploit was patched in 6.20. LOL.

This also works with the UMD version.

and what good does that do with a psp go plz?
Facepalm

Did i mention the PSP Go? I just said that this also works in the UMD Version. PSP Go can use the eboot one if you had it before they took it out.

the video that you posted mentions the PSP Go.
Who would have this game anyway? Its rubbish. PSN has updated the game to require 6.20 anyone that doesn't have it, can't get it unless they update.
This is utter useless.

But people can develop CFE from this.

I don't think anything run with this exploit has permission to modify the flash.

Sucks that Sony patched it before he could release it, though.

most likely the only reason it was released is because with it already patched. freeplay now has no need to worry about whether releasing it would have the exploit patched...

EDIT: grammar

Maybe this'll entice others to release their exploits AFTER they have been patched in the future. Cool!

THIS. Also, as already said some posts ago, this doesn't let you modify the flash in any way. So no CFW from this.

there is however also a kernel exploit, Mathieulh released it because freeplay stole this mercury exploit from his team.

P.S. The ifhandle kernel exploit provided in the supplied sources has been fixed since firmware 6.00 so there is no harm in supplying it along with the sources that were initially using it.

this is great news, the sources for a kernel exploit are released, now i hope someone can make it into a working exploit for psp1000/2000/3000.
