Now, the clarification: some data of this update is on the disc, but said data is incomplete and requires the actual download to access. But again, free. Mercenaries costumes are residentevil.net unlocks. Simply register for the site and start earning RE points for those goodies.

Well at least they told the truth about their new practices with DLC. :) No release dates though.
I can honestly say if they keep this up and bring Megaman back (not a smartphone) I'll be 100% square with them.

That's certainly nice of them, but considering the game's reception, it might not be enough to win the fans over.

I don't see why anyone would have any problem with on disk FREE DLC.
It's only when it's paid that it's a bad thing. There could be multiple reasons they have the data on the disk already and unlock it at a later date, including a strategic release or it simply wasn't 100% finished/tested at time of launch.
As long as it's free, there's nothing to bitch about.

People with offline consoles become second class consumers.

In this day and age I honestly have absolutely no sympathy for this.
If, for some reason, a person doesn't have internet, they could always just go to a buddies house.
If the person has neither internet nor friends, well...sucks to be them.

the only reason they released this dlc for "free" is because someone hacked it and uploaded it to youtube, also capcom lied about on disc dlc they said they will stop it but it's obvious that they haven't stopped it.

I doubt they would charge for increased difficulty mode anyway. I would gladly pay for a new 'Jill' campaign or a new multiplayer mode.

Capcom is one of the worst companies with on disc DLC except for maybe, Namco Bandai(Tekken, Soul Calibur and others), Tecmo-Koei(Warriors you know what most Japanese companies that localize a game have on disc dlc, Activision(CoD, Transformers and others), EA and many more.

Your just going to have to a boycott the DLC since if you boycott the game they will think the game just doesn't sell well or send a lot of letters and signatures to said company about said practice.

Reminder: Pokémon has had stuff like that since Gold/Silver, and people weren't complaining.
