    I went to a HBO-school (some kind of university) yesterday where they had 2 classes full of iMac's. WIN!

    this makes no sense
    with these the graduating class takes them leaving nothing at all for the next year of new students

    with an actual pc upgrade all students can enjoy the computers.

    also, how much homework can you really finish with an ipod or ipad? you'd have to head to your pc to type it up and print it out anyway :|

    It's not just the computers. I'm guessing they would have to use a server to manage all the computers and their respective software. Servers add to the cost, software licences (Photoshop, Flash, Visual Basic, etc.) add to the cost, and maintenance.

    True but this department managed to find another £50,000 so they could all have one.

    my school has got better computers then I have at home, and everyone is restricted to 10% of their power. They cost around €600,- each [​IMG]

    when i was in school we only had mac's. i don't remember what we used back then but playing Oregon trail in computer class was the high light of my day. these kids have it very good now a days. shit, i don;t even own an ipod and these kids are getting them for free.

    No wonder Apple are earning too much. Schools are doing this rather than having useful upgrades. [​IMG]

    That being said, I wouldn't have minded my school doing it, but I think they'd probably not have enough money to. [​IMG]
