Just a heads up, today Microsoft sent a batch of e-mails to people caught playing Forza 3 early saying their gamer tags have been permanently banned. Attempting to log into live shows it's only a temporary suspension though, with each date being different for someone else. It is safe to assume that only Forza 3 is the cause of it, probably having to do with Microsoft's part in the game's actual development.

Case in point I've played plenty of games early, even Halo 3 more than a month before it's release, and have yet to be banned. All signs are pointing at Forza 3.

Thanks for the heads up Gaisuto, added to the 360 post.

Personally I have already spent several of my precious DL discs (no idea why but if you spilled my pint it would be "accidents happen" but for DL discs there is likely to be pain involved) from the last batch sating the desires of my petrol head [game] associates and "conveniently" forgot to mention this was released.

someone said they got banned for playing Smackdown vs Raw 2010 early also on a certain game torrent site
and it only comes out in about 5 days

so it might be safe to assume that they are gonna start doing this for all games from now on

Smackdown was a bad rip, had nothing to do with it being early.

Unless it was a p2p version that is quite an impressive turnaround for scene release to torrent to download to burn to ban especially given the quick nuking it got. Talking about the wrestling game this is.

Apparently people are being temporarily banned from Live for attempting to play Borderlands online as well.
Lesson of the day: Dont play them on live until the release date and after theyve been verified with ABGX.

I haven't heard anything about Borderlands. All the bans thus far have one thing in common and that they have all played Forza 3.

Yeah, I heard of borderlands too.

But even playing offline they can still ban you, the next time you log in to Live and all the data is sent to M$. Im not trusting these p2p releases that are coming out very early, before scene releases etc.
