Fortnite beta for Android now available

Since April of this year, iOS mobile users have been able to play Fortnite on their phones, spurring the Fortnite phenomenon to reach even further. Four months later, Android users are finally getting in on the action, with the Android version of the beta launching today. If you have a Samsung Galaxy S7, S8, S9, Note 8/9, or Tab S3/4, you'll be able to try out Fortnite. Currently it's locked to those specific Samsung devices, but the beta will open up to other platforms in the following week. Those who purchase a new Samsung Note 9 or Tab S4 will also get access to a special character skin for free.

You mean cross platform play?
nope, this beta was designed for some selected high-end android phones, if some of u don't have one from the list, no problem, get android emu and you can play this eiffel tower simulator too, against phone users ofc :P

why tf should I buy a new phone my Galaxy S6 is working fine

Except that it performs like shit and as such, can't run Fortnite.

Not the beta. The game itself. The performance situation isn't going to change - The S6 is much, much slower than the iPhone 6s (which came out at the same rough time as the S6 and can run Fortnite just fine) so that phone will not be able to run the game at acceptable frame rates. The S7 has similar performance to the 6s, so it can run the game (though Android itself does not have great graphics APIs, developing a performant game for it is harder than it is on iOS).

And Fortnite detects AndroidX86 VMs and blocks em.

Contains a device check, won't actually install the game if you aren't on a Samsung
Correct, I have a modified APK that has this device check patched out, spoofs as a Note 9, but, it has a modified Signature (Required) so Epic Games might be able to see it and ban you

PC, console and phone all playing at the same time. Just sounds toxic and problematic to me, might melt some phones too. :V
Mobile, consoles, PC have their own servers, you're placed on crossplatform only if you queue with a different platform.

This is like when the cool kids in school got the most recent smartphones and gang up on nerds to shame their flip-based cellphones.

….Never again, childhood...
TFW nobody in your school had phones when you were in middle school/elementary school...

Everyone had sidekicks when I was in high school, though.

still, back in the days it was all about who has the latest gameboy/n64/ps1 game or console, same price range as smartphones tbh...
