Hacking Format at v3.2/Wii "useless" before formating?

Hey guys, i was at the v4.0 and thought about format to clean up some "useless hided things". And then i came back to v3.2.
BUT, now on v3.2 i can't use the Disc Channel, it asks me actualization to use, but i don't know if this is made by some archives/files of v4.0 that remains on my wii, or v3.2 it's just useless with disc channel nowadays. Because i'm afraid to format it and then can't run my Zelda from Disc Channel without actualization (I don't have mod)...
Sugestions please, what do you think about? Thanks
