I got the DSN-12 but was disapointed with one feature - or rather a lack of feature: the inability to record during song mode, when patterns are playing in sequence and we are able to record into the sequencer at the same time. Korg DS-10 Plus has this feature, which is great. I like to record in real time (not great with piano roll/grid programming), and being limited to short pattern loops is a real nuisance.

Does anyone has any workarounds for this? How do you compose on the DSN-12? Do you input into the sequencer per pattern and try to fit melodies this way? Any feedback on workflow is most appreciated!

I love the sound of this program, yet this limitation really bothers me, as I find it very difficult to create complex songs with sucessive patterns that fit into one another.

Thanks.

It's a ridiculous omission that you can't export midi etc. My advise is rip the bandage off and accept that DS-10 does what you need. If anyone here wants to smack me upside the head with a workaround or a patch, let me have it.
EDIT: also consider Rhythm Core Alpha 2 (DSi) exports to Midi etc it's great

Thanks! I looked for Rhythm Core Alpha 2 but it was not available to download in my region's nintendo eshop. Can I download it in another shop/region??

thanks. if I change the region on my 2DS XL, would that work? Sorry, I am new to the system.
https://3ds.hacks.guide/region-changing
After this process, only New 3DSs which have never accessed the eShop before and all Old 3DSs will be able to access the eShop after creating a new NNID on their new region. Region changed New 3DSs that have already accessed the eShop on their original region cannot create a new NNID and access the eShop on their new region!
If a software is not available for purchase in your device' region and you already used eShop there are pretty much no legal options (besides buying another console).

You don't need to change the region of the console, is a tedious process and most of the time doesn't worth the hassle.
If you don't have your console with CFW, proceed with the guide. If you have you'r console already runnin' CFW, just search for the .cia file, install it, and it should be enough.
