So besides following the guide exactly, anything else I should know before finally downgrading? Like should I remove menuhax, themes, etc. before downgrading?

This is on 9.0 sysnand, 10.6 emunand n3ds xl. I already installed things like tiny format, injected fbi into the h&s app, and sysupdater on emunand.

Just follow the guide re-read steps over and over until you understand them, you should be fine and make sure you use OTPHelper 0.71 which atm is the safest version.
good luck

Alright so I managed to dump otp, but the hosted link to open otphelper from the browser isn't booting even after clearing the history and cookies.

Installed it but aureinand doesn't seem to be booting. Tested the alternative payload and it shuts down the system properly so its not a brick for sure.

Already have the bin files on the root and my rei folder looks like this http://prntscr.com/afhsx7

I followed the guide.. Downloaded the firmware files from it. Ended up missing a good amount of firmware files. (like almost all - I am surprised homebrew booted) Did you guys download from the otp guide or that Iso site? Maybe it is just the guides firmware files. I am on O3DS 10.6U

I used the guide and was fine

The guide was fine, its just that I'm not sure which files I'm missing or what I'm doing wrong exactly since I have all the files for Aureinand and the test payload worked.

just to note, if not already posted, u don't need to remove menuhax or anything before doing the guide. menuhax is just the preferred method to boot into the homebrew launcher. u may need to install it multiple times throughout the tutorial like when u change themes in emunand to differentiate between emunand and sysnand since there's still that bug that kicks u back to sysnand if u go into system settings to check. :)
