So I have a PS2 slim that FMBC just stopped working. I tried multiple cards, bought pre-made and formated installed by me, including OG MagicGate cards. I tried both slots. Also tried creating a card though the installed both using the normal and the transmodel versions (through a phat PS2)

Either I get a black screen or I see the Freemcboot splash screen and then black. The console turns fine without the card.

Any idea what the problem could be or I can I troubleshoot this?

It's a SCPH-70004. How do I check the sustem version?
Press 'Triangle' and look at the Browser version.

Since yours is an SCPH-70004, I suppose the ROM is v2.00, so this is fully compatible with FMCB.

If your console has a modchip installed, then use FMCB 1.953 or lower.

'System Configuration' > 'Version Information' and under 'Browser' version.

I don't seem to have such option :X There's "language", "clock adjustment", "screen size", "digital out", "component video out", "remote control" and then goes back to "language"

I can try that version, but it doesn't have a modchip.

Oh, browser is 1.40, CD player 2.00, driver 1.11 a d DVD player 3.10E
Yeah, it's compatible as mentioned. The CD Player version is the ROM version. Try a different FMCB version, different memory card that supports MagicGate, or go with FreeHDBoot as a last resort.

The problem turns out, it was from my controller that had a stuck R2 button :rofl2: Thank you though for everything.
