Hacking Flickering Bottom Screen

So my friend gave me a broken DS Lite that didn't have a working top screen and so i opened it up and found that the ribbon had just come lose. When I put everything back together, the bottom screen was dimmer and had a large flickering effect. Any help with this would be much appreciated.

Try and put the ribbon in a bit harder.
I know it feels like it can't go in any further but you should try.
That thing is a bitch to get in right.

Yea, like xcalibur said, try putting it tighter, like together,, and i know it will get fustrating =O
