    People are calling them both...

So which is the correct term for the Slot-1 Flashing device on the Nintendo DS?

flash card would be more reasonable seeing how there is no meaning in cart (at least for our purposes).

however, it is more common to see flash cart (after cartridge) in most nds communities....mmm...kinda like leet speak.

    Well ... both are OK.

The correct term should be cart for cartridge

    oh, WGAF

really, cartridge, card, for the DS they are practically synonymous. I think people just use cart(ridge) to differentiate it from the micro SD flash card.

Basically, this....It is a flashcart (after the cartridge), and it's a microSD card....so there is no mistake in using a tearms when you talk about something...
Thy are called flashcarts from the days they were invented/developed..

I just call the Slot 2 devices flashcarts, and the Slot 1 devices flashcards..
it makes the most sense to me..

That's a pretty good way of looking at it, but I tend to think of it like this; the flashcart is what is plugged in to the DS (slot1 or 2) a flashcard is what is plugged in to the flashcart for the memory.

Truth be told, I don't think it matters, everyone will know what you're talking about anyway.....well, on forums such as this one at any rate.

GBA = Flashcarts because they're Gameboy Advance Cartridges.
DS = Flashcards because they're DS Game Cards.
