Hacking Flash Advance Xtreme 128m problem

I have a flash advance xtreme and the battery seems to be dead, can the battery be recharged by running it in the ds or if i have to replace it how can i go about it without damaging the card. the battery is tacked in place by two little dents on the top of the clamp arrangement and im afraid it will tear if i try to remove it.

Replace the battery or use something else.

The DS doesn't recharge the internal battery in the flashcart.
