Ive seen 2 lisitings on ebay for a 2ds XL and the probelms are:

This item has been listed for parts as it powers on to the blue light however nothing would display on either of the screens.

This item has been listed for parts as it powers on to the blue light however nothing would display on either of the screens and the light would go off with a small pop each time.

Was thinking of buying this if they can they be fixed with NTRBootHax?

It sounds more like the ribbon cables were not set properly anymore in the casing of the console. its nothing ntrboothax is going to touch or fix

the first one could be revived with ntrboot (but you cant be sure if its softwarefail or like above post said the ribbons) for the second one sounds like the ribbon cabels are faulty

I wouldn't risk buying broken 3DS consoles to fix unless they're ones with broken LCDs or are so dirt cheap, you can cannibalize the parts as backup for another (same model) 3DS you already own. Too much of a gamble IMO.

I've taken a few 3ds apart over the years and back to the old ds, to say they are a bit of a ball ache is an understatement!
When you realise it's the cable joining the two shells together and your now going to have to take the top half apart..
Then threading that cable through the hinge..
I hate it. Wasn't worth the time and effort. If they are super cheap and you're doing it for you to keep might be worth it but I've picked a few cheap 3ds up over the past few months, I doubt I would get much cheaper faulty and that's without adding in parts..
