"I have wii with 3.0E.
I buy a modchip (wiikey I think , clone).
Solder the chip, backups and orginals dont work. Startup disk 1.2 looks like work. I sew Gamecube icon, clik on , but then I have a screen on TV
"An error has occurred.
Press the Ejest Button, remove the Games Disc, and turn the power off.
Please read the Wii operations manual for more information."
Is my chip solder , ok?
Or , what I can to do? "
When I did mine with 2.2e my wiikey (orig I hope) worked for 2days. Then when I tried to run it (at a new location so moved the unit) got the exact message quoted above which occured with every disk - backup and originals.
I panicked and cut the wires to the wiikey hoping that originals would work - they didn't pannick!
Then reviewing the board with a magnifying glass I noticed a small piece of solder stuck between the drive cable pins.
I wasn't good enough to remove but by using a sharp knife manged to push it in.
Thankfully the Wii then worked for originals so I used new wires, re-wired the wiikey to a new sticky pad location on the board and I haven't looked back - all workign again.
Basically check the drive cable do the pins look they are shorting?
