Just pay attention to the numbers. Firmware updates originate from dsgba/N-card (www.superdslink.com) and the clones nominally rebrand an exact copy later (sometimes they @#$& up though). The difference between one cards version of firmware and xmenu is essentially the default background picture. If the clone release has some real effort in it, the auto-generated config file will include the clone homepage in the header...

At the time of posting, Firmware 1.45 and x-menu 2.53 are the latest.

okay thanks for the info. I have a N-card 1gb, and the firmware from ncard has an xmenu.dat that is around 1.0MB, and the xmenu.dat from the DS linker firmware that is 1.3MB. why the difference? both are supposed to be firmware 1.45, xmenu 2.53.

how about save type, how do I make it so every game has savetype of Auto, so I can use the soft reset? Or do you have to manually change it for every game you load?

Actually, the 1.3mb firmware file is the new one. The 1.0mb one is old. Someone uploaded the wrong file to the GBAtemp download center. Download the correct version from www.superdslink.com (official site) instead.
