Oh god. Get Fire Emblem. Don't even question it. Just... get it.

  • JRPG/SRPG goodness in a style only a Fire Emblem game can deliver.
  • AMAZING story
  • Really fleshed out social systems between units
  • Dating-simmy elements (more like glorified shipping...)
  • Pretty good Voice acting (Jap. and NA audio tracks)
  • No perma-death in Casual mode (in older fire emblems, when a character dies in a battle they died for the rest of the game. period.)
  • Very satisfying class system
  • Lovable characters (Tharja <3)

Uh... Yeah. Get Fire emblem. I played the demo for MonHun 3 and I didn't really dig it. The fonts look really weird (I have a normal 3DS) so It kinda bugged me. The virtual D-pad was a really nice addition for camera control, though. But still, I would go with Fire Emblem no matter what.

If you still wanna know, just download their demos from the eShop and see for yourself.

Yeah but it's interesting to play in a way that makes Fire emblem known for what it truly is. Casual mode is good but once you get the feel of how the game works. go classic. Definetely. There's nothing more interesting than having to choose between an easy victory and a character you want to keep. XD

Have you ever played any monster hunter? Did you like it? I'm a self proclaimed monster hunter nutjob. With that said, if u never played a monster hunter before, I would say go for fire emblem. Monster hunter might prove to be a little too frustrating at first and may force u to want to give up. There is a farely large learning curve. But like previously mentioned this game has an addiction of its own and the sense of accomplishment is immense after killing something hard to kill. The game is also more leaning towards cooperative play. Sure fire emblem can be hard too but it can be a little more gentle on you. In the end comparing these two games is like comparing apples to oranges. Two different beasts that both require a gare amount of grinding to get the most out of your resources, however monster hunter has more of a tendency to just flat out slap you in the face.

This.

If I may also add,

While Fire Emblem requires planning strategy and knowing various techniques, Monster Hunter DOUBLES (if not TRIPLES) the need for this, along with sometimes having to do this on the fly like this demo. However without a doubt Fire Emblem is going to have a much better Story (or a story period XD). I personally have never really liked Fire Emblem (oddly enough though, I love Advanced Wars and they both are essentially the same >_>) so I am a bit bias towards MH, but I know its not for everyone. That said try the demos, for the love of all that it sacred TRY THE DEMOS.
