I havent found where you can modify inventory items or character stats. I really want to use some of the other characters but it's impossible to train them since they will die instantly in the skirmishes.
I have found out how to change your main character name, SP, and the CRC32 header and footer but I can't really find anything else. Can anyone help?

cheat codes work on ryujinx also work on yuzu because both emulators use the same cheat code format: YTMR00AA AAAAAAAA VVVVVVVV (VVVVVVVV). it's just they have different interfaces for the cheat codes.

i cannot post links on this forum but you can try searching on youtube. there are plenty of tutorial videos on how to use cheat codes on yuzu. if you have decent machines like i do (rtx3090ti, i5-13600k), the performance and functionality of yuzu far surpass those of ryujinx. though ryujinx is more stable on laptops than yuzu is.

Honestly just trial and error. Always save a good copy of the game in case you really mess things up. I also found out on how to change inventory items and make weapons +5
If you really want, I can show you a few things I found out in detail later if you actually have the means of using it.

EDIT2:
Use JKSV to backup saves. Open save in HxD. Click Search -> Go To. Type in 132. Type 00, 01, 02, depending on the difficulty you want. 00=normal, 01=hard, 02=maddening. Save file in HxD.
Load your modded save file here and save it without changing anything (unless you want to further cheat): https://chrom-sevy.github.io/engage-editor/
*This is an easy way to save your modded file with correct checksums. Without this step or without manually modifying for correct checksums, your save won't load in the game.
Restore save using JKSV.
I was able to change the difficulty from normal to hard using this method. Verified by checking My Room in Somniel. Your modded save file will not show the new difficulty in the load screen. But once you save a new file, the new difficulty will be reflected correctly in the load screen.
