Q1: When is Open Beta and Early Access?

A1: Beta Test phase 4 will run from August 17-19. Those who participated in the Beta Test phase 3 will be able to participate from August 16th. Early access will run from August 24th until the 26th with official service begins on August 27th, but the servers won't go down after Early Access, so you'll be able to play non-stop from August 24th.

Also, it will be level capped at 20. The Arcanist class will be available. Anything you do in B4 will carry over to retail.

(It's still not F2P, and it will never be. Mainly because it was funded by internal funds and not from investors.)

There's a live stream showing off improved aspects of the game.

It looks awful and they have this girl hugging moogle plushes squeeling. Then there's the twitch chat.

http://xivpads.com/ has the same feed and also has a live translation.

Or you can read my original link with the official QA translation session in text form (and without the moogle ménage à trois).

two days?...what a joke. So much for a week long open beta.
Ah well I'll still get to try it and that's all that counts.

Trust me..... The level cap hurts worse than the short open beta. In B3, I was able to get to lv15 in 8 hours or so.

And that was doing class/storyline quests, too.

...wonderful >.>
Well at least the first 20 levels will show me if I like the game or not. Not exactly an expensive game so I plan on buying it if it's solid enough.
At least it looks a hell of a lot better than the original game...lordy.

Atleast it looks a hell of a lot better than the original game...lordy.

It will give you a great feel for the combat system, and that will be the determining factor for sticking with the game. You may have to fiddle with the control settings to get something you like. A simple control change took the game from "meh" to "awesome". Running backwards at full speed while auto facing the enemy is super sweet.
