Rumors of the Xbox 360 version being on multiple discs once again have now been proven false.

Famitsu shares some new information regarding FINAL FANTASY XIII-2?s disc count.

The PlayStation 3 version will of course be on one Blu-ray disc. The Xbox 360 version, however, will ship on one DVD. Quite the difference from FINAL FANTASY XIII, which required three discs on Microsoft’s system.

Director Motomu Toriyama cites increased use of real time event scenes, which has lead to a decrease in the game’s data volume.[/p]Source

No word on audio though but why would I care, I'll be playing the superior PS3 version (???)

this is a indication that the game will be much smaller compared to the original game, this doesn't look good

not that i am going to buy it anyway.

No, it's an indication that there will hardly be any CGI.

time: FFXIII had 30GB of CGI and pre-recorded scenes, the rest was only 7GB.

Hopefully the storyline isnt so boring and straightlined. Im still just at the place where i can finally chose my 6 members. So boring >.

Wait people didn't know this?

I've known since comic con. Guy at the booth told me. Guess I should have mentioned it :X

this is actually a very interesting piece of news
maybe they found a new way to encode the movie CGI scenes and hence lower space required AS THEY didnt say any version is superior than the other
i have yet to even get ff13 which i really really want BUT nobody here has it afaik and i dont think someone will get it considering the scarcity of games here. they go for 90 dollars even.

pirates will be happier for sure... and i am not talking about myself!

i loved the cgi scenes from the first game. i wouldn't mind another 3-disc if it meant more good cutscenes.

I bet you anything, this is because of every single reviewer and critic and Xbox Fanboy bitched and complained "WHAT?! That means I have to get up for 10 seconds!"

And then when this game ships and people play it:
"The game suffers ridiculously bad load times, and the graphics come no where close as it's prequel."

+1. "THE XBOX HAS TO HAVE PS3 1 DISC FEATURES!" I just don't get it when people don't complain about graphics after buying a computer underspec'd compared to another, but god forgive if the Xbox can't deliver the same as one blueray on the PS3... I just want a good game with above average story (and possibly less controller bashing.. I nearly broke my hands with FFXIII when I was on sick leave and ended up playing the game till the end in a week's working days). CGI is one of the reasons that I like FF games and always have liked. Hopefully Square Enix doesn't forget them..

ps. Did I mention a good story and CGI?

Although the quality of the CGI was extremely impressive on the PS3 version I don't think I would have enjoyed the game any less had it been merely DVD quality.

I'll get either, whichever's more convenient for me (which will likely be the 360 if my brother doesn't give me his PS3 by then).

I hated Final Fantasy 13, I'm gonna start judging FF games on other people's experiences rather then reviews for now on

In that case I'm enjoying.

1. FF7 Crisis Core
2. FF7

Both have real good story's and battle systems.
Although people seem to hate Crisis Core's system.

The 360 version is going to lag like a bitch. Fuck that. PS3 FTW. I have played the majority of FF games on either a Sony or Nintendo console and I am not going to change that now.

You're a total idiot.
