what are their multiplayer capabilities? online wifi?multi-single card play?

Rings of Fate multiplayer uses multi-card mode. No single-card mode.

I don't know about Echoes Of Time. Download it and check.

Echoes of Time has no single card IIRC, though it does have online milti.

RoF Has Local Multi-Card Only.
EoT Has Local Multi-Card, Wifi Multi Card.

Though the wifi is so atrocious (Worst lag on DS), its not worth getting into. Unfortunately.

It depends where the players are, I played Wi-Fi national and the lag wasn't that bad.
But when I played with some players at Japan, the lag was extreme.
