Hi,

1. Has anyone tried playing a video file with framerate higher than 20 fps? Does it simply crash / not show up in the menu?

2. What might be the FFMPEG commandline syntax for converting simple, 2D movie into 3DS' format ? I'd like to convert a standard 16:9 XviD... all the batch files I've seen so far dealt with converting 3D movies.

Thanks!

spinal's post has the FFMPEG commands for converting 2D and 3D videos to the 3DS.

Even easier, you can use this: http://gbatemp.net/topic/315365-3ds-video-v01-beta/ - it definitely works for 2D video and should work for 3D video too as of v0.15.

Another one: why is the movie resolution 480x240, while 3DS' screen is (2x) 400x240 ?
Are 40 columns of pixels on both sides cropped when played on 3DS ?

no, they're downscaled by the 3DS on the fly. it's pretty much okay, the downscaling. the bad part is the actual quality of the video encoded. it'd be much easier to appreciate the downscaling if you're playing high-quality conversions, but i suppose the optimum setting is a pixel-perfect fit of 400x240.
