Sonic 2 - One of the few games I actually consoder perfect (among others: OoT, LttP, Super Metroid, ...)

I actually liked one for the Gamecube, heroes maybe? Can't remember what it was called. But you could have this Chao's as little pets, and make the heaven or hell chao's or something.
Was pretty fun.

I never really got into any of the older sonic games tho..

Sonic 3 And Knuckles

Mine as well. In my opinon, there are Sonic games (Genesis, Master System, Game Gear). And then there are "Sonic" games (pretty much anything made after Sonic and Knuckles).

I hate to rock the boat but I would have to say Sonic Rush. i wasn't a gamer in the 16bit days and my first real sonic experience was Sonic Rush, which I loved. I have tried to go back to play the classics and though I can appreciate them to a degree, without the added layer of nostalgia, I dont find them particularly good.

Yeah, sonic 2 was good (although i prefer sonic 3), but sonic 1 is epic.
After Sonic 1, Sonic Adventure, for Dreamcast (don't really like that much the Director's cut version), then sonic 3 and Sonic R.

I thought Sonic R was quite amateur in quality, wouldnotplayagain/10.

Despite other's opinions I don't think Shadow the Hedgehog is that bad, actually it's better than Heroes which I found to be sucky. I guess if you play the shitty way and blast through the zones and get the shit ending it could be a shit game.
