Mine are

NoScript: Best buddy in the whole wide web, nothing runs scripts unless I explicitly allow them to.

Easy Youtube Video Downloader: Love this thing, I can download any video on youtube, from the actual video's page itself, in whatever quality and format is available. I can't live without this addon, just cant.

Download Statusbar: An asthetic choice, but has some uses. I can manage all of my downloads from a status bar on the bottom of FireFox window. I can pause, cancel, open the containing folder, etc.

Personas: Love it for asthetic reasons, and because I don't like using regular themes. Foxkeh Canoe is my current one.

Youtube to MP3: Allows me to convert any video to an mp3, HQ or regular quality.

  • adblock plus: undeniably the best add-on ever.
  • greasemonkey: Simply amazing. Surprised nobody else so far mentioned this.
  • auto pager: Automatically loads next page (for example, on google search, it'll load page two directly below page one). Settings are customizable (but very complicated) and you can add your own websites.
  • smooth wheel: Bunch of settings to customize scrolling speed, smoothness, etc.
  • quickdrag: simple, customizable mouse gestures.
  • search preview: adds preview of webpages on google search.
  • quick search bar: makes searching much easier. Replaces search bar with the icon of each search engine you have installed. you can just drag/drop text onto the icons to search on which ever engine you dropped on.
  • flash block: functions much like NoScript, but I personally think it's better.

Addblock plus (mduh)
Firebug (Best invention ever for webdevelopers!)
FireFTP (great ftp client)
Easy Youtube Video Downloader (pretty straightforward, I guess.)

Addblock plus (like everyone else)
Addblock plus element hider helper (manually disabling things on sites is nice)
Autopager (removes the need for clicking next page on forums and such)
Add-on Compatibility reporter (usefull of addons refuse to put a higher number in the compatibility list)
Download Statusbar (removes the need of using that awful downloads menu)
DownThemAll ( download manager)
Flagfox (lets me see where sites are hosted)
Greasemonkey (duh)
gTranslator (easy google translator)
HTTPS-Everywhere (uses https instead of http whenever possible)
TinEye Reverse image Search ( looks up images on tineye)
WOT (checks if A site is reliable)
Ghostery (removes all the statistics BS from sites most sites have at least 3 of them GBAtemp only has google analytics btw)
Those are only my favorites I have installed a lot more addons than this

the settings for auto pager look complicated on first sight but if you look at the guide you really only need about 6 clicks to enable a new page so its actually really simple but doesnt always work for example I made one for gbatemp but it only works in threads and I couldn't get it working to both browse trough threads and through boards

Google is doing it automatically without a firefox addon, no?
It's just to have the preview always active on all result at the same time?

Red = Must have, I can't use firefox without it.
Blue = for development
  • Abduction! : take screenshot of any page content easilly
  • Add N Edit Cookies
  • Addblock Plus
  • AutoCopy : select it, it's copied
    biggrin.gif
  • Automatic Save Folder : Plus, it's mine! Sorry for the lack of updates. Not enough time to work on it.
  • AutoPager (disabled, memory leaking or need too many memory)
  • ChromeList
  • ColorZilla
  • Console²
  • Cooliris
  • DOM Inspector
  • DownThemAll (I never use it, except for mass content filtering on a webpage, which is very rare)
  • Extension List Dumper : export a list of your installed extension
  • Firebug
  • GetJetable email
  • Quick Local Switcher
  • Remote Xul Manager
  • Session Manager
  • RikaiChan
  • TabMixPlus : adds more option to the tabs
  • TimeStamp Converter
  • USA English Spellchecker
  • Web Developer

Please, don't report to developers that their addons are not working with "latest released version", they usually know it.
Just use the "Add-on Compatibility reporter" for personal purpose only to enable add-on you usually use.
Developers often get bad comment and bad ranks because users are still using the old add-on instead of the latest beta.

chatzilla for the win baby, how else would one get an invite to those unmentionable websites, those that they do not speak of

*snip*
Google does have a preview feature that comes up when clicking on the description of the webpage, but I don't like it. >_>

the addon inserts a preview for every webpage in a thumbnail-like style.

Download Helper (this thing is a beast for pretty much any site with media on it)
Addblock Plus - Element Hider (A beauty)
Greasemonkey for Facebook

Stylish is pretty nifty, not essential though

AdBlock Plus - Must have. Just don't use it on 'Temp >-p
NoScript - Usefull, but can be pain sometimes... Somesites just don't work, even if I temporarily accept everything, so I need to disable it.
TabMix Plus - How can you survive with just the normal tab options?

Text to Link - Can't live without it (oh, drama). It allows you to doubleclick a a url that is just plain text.
Image Zoom (i think that's the name... I'm at work now) - Allow you to zoom an image using right mouse button + wheel to zoom in and zoom out.
Flashgot - It's nice, period.

BugMeNot - Allows you to access some sites you'd need to register before.
Show Image - When a picture doesn't load, this let you to just reload it, just like on IE.
Open On IE - Nobody here uses it? Opens the current site on Internet Explorer.

I think there are some more i use, but i can't check right now.

Noscript
Ad Block Plus
Nightly Tester Tools
Greasemonkey

I used to be so attached to TabMixPlus, although recently I've just grown away from it, other than that I don't really have any other addons clogging up my browser.

Also why do people use all these Youtube downloaders and Youtube to mp3 converters? Don't people just use JDownloader?

@Minox : Thanks for download status bar

I updated Automatic Save Folder to work on Firefox 5.* (on mozilla page, not on the official website yet).
The developers are already working on Firefox 7.*

I should continue the development this summer, I have ideas but will required almost a full rewriting.

Ad block I'm not sure which add on is good
