Gaming Fallout 4 lader problem

Im trying to build my house but on the floor section there is a ladder that has 2 floors on top and 1 on the bottom and I cant build my house correctly because of those stairs. Can someone help me with this problem?

build from top down. put ladders up as high as u want. build 2 floors off those. now off to the side put a ladder with platforms going down. click a bunch of floors together (so you have floors beneath the first set). climb back up on the first floors you made and look straight down. now take your fingers off the sticks. press x (on ps4). you should have dropped down with the platform selected. press x again without moving.
this will make it so you can have 1 floor between each story. if you want 2 walls joined just repeat the dropdown 1 more time from top level
