Are there wode knockoffs like the knockoff ps3jailbreak mod chip from china that cannot be updated? I recently bought a wode from modchipdirect.com as its one of the distributors on the wode main site and as i am looking at the installation video i see my usb cable looks nothing like the one in the video. Mine has two usb connectors divided by one cable going in the wode which i assume i have to connect it to both ports to power the wode. In the video the cable is one connector. Also my case wont close when i installed the chip as the drive is now elevated high and since im thinking that my wode is a fake the chip may be bigger than the standard and i followed the directions to a T.

One of those cables needs to be plugged into the WODE, the second cable needs to be plugged into the back of your Wii. Mine's the same way, it's something to do with the HDD.

there have been different official versions of the WODE. the later version has dual USB cable. it was added because people are trying to use the Wii USB ports to power the WODE and a bigass USB HDD with 500 LEDs and crap. getting the power for all that crap from 1 USB port didnt really work out too well. so the later versions of WODE have 2 usb cables so you can power your ineffecient HDD, a desktop reading lamp, a wifi dongle, and a USB-dildo.

i use a USB HDD that gets power from the wall. and i have never once had an issue with stuff not getting enough power. even when i have a USB hub + wifi adapter + 2 HDDs connected.

the only thing that is transfered through your Wii USB ports to the WODE is power. its the same for the USB wiimote chargers. you can get the same effect by plugging these things into a USB port on your PC or DVD player. there is no need to use the wii USB ports at all.

giantpune so your saying i should plug in both usb connectors to the back of my wii and get a hub to use with the port in the actual wode for my extra usb peripherals? Like my EA Sports Active 2 USB Receiver and mic ect?

    Lol no.

Use the USB port in the WODE for your HDD, that's why it's there.

Im not talking about the port. Im talking about the cable from the wode that connects to the usb port in the back of the wii. It comes with 2 connectors (not port). You and matt34724 dont understand what im talking about only giantpune does. I would take pictures to demonstrate if i knew how to upload.

im saying that you can use 1 of the cables. if you get issues with your HDD not getting enough power, then plug in the second cable.

Got it thanks! But now i ran into a new problem my wode detects the hdd fine but when i go to usbloader gx or cfgusbloader65 they both say no hdd detected. I know its not a power problem because my hdd has a power source of its own but just to make sure i plugged in both wode cables to the back of the wii and still i get no hdd detected from the 2 usb loaders. Here is my syscheck incase you think i need some updates :

wode usb cables are only wired for power if you want to use a USB loader the drive has to be connected to the Wii not the wode.
you can find wode compatible loaders here http://code.google.com/p/wodebrew/

If you want to use a USB loader interface with your WODE then use WODEFlow.
