Hacking Factory reset?

Someone is suggesting doing a factory reset to see if the Switch will then cast to my TV.

Would this be okay to do if I have been using emuNAND and CFW? Or should I do a NAND backup restore?

Sorry I wasn't clear. An ebay seller that sold my Switch was suggesting the factory reset to potentially solve a problem I have when docking the Switch. When docked, the Switch is charging but the picture is not being sent to the TV. The TV continues to return a "no signal." The factory reset didn't fix the issue, you are correct.

I've tested with another dock, replugging in the cables in the right order, and my other Switch is able to function just fine in both docks. I'm hoping to take the system to a local game shop to see if they can repair the USB-C port or the PI3USB chip.
