Hardware Factory reset 3ds with broken camera

Hi

I have a new Nintendo 3DS XL not cfw with non working camera. It gives two black screens with sound. I unplugged the camera cable and everything works as normal except 3d.

I want to factory reset it. Can someone please outline what I should do beforehand. Also I will set it up as normal after the factory reset will camera not working mess up the setting up of the 3ds.

I doubt that a factory reset will fix your problem.

It is not possible to without fixing the camera. The 3d setup process after a factory reset requires the camera to be turned on to proceed. You would softbrick the console by resetting it.

So what is my solution. Is there anyway to reset the console and delete the previous owner stuff from the console like nnid and videos or photos.

I bought it off eBay as parts only purchase.

Just an update for anyone who is interested.

I did go through with the system format. And was able to set up the console afterwards even the step for 3d activation.

Now my only issue is whether the nnid is still linked.

Can I set up new nnid so that the old one gets unlinked.
