    1) What's the limit on the number of files in a directory, using the new firmware?
    2) Is there any way to use the client to patch many ROMs at once? I don't want to patch hundreds of ROMs by clicking on each one individually.
    3) The client, when trying to patch a ROM whose name it doesn't recognize, detects its name as a blank string, and tries to create a (blank).gba file. Needless to say, this causes problems if you are trying to patch lots of ROMs since many of them will produce the same output file. Is there some way to tell the client to use the original ROM name so that each output file name is unique?

1: Can't help you there. I only own around 14 GBA games, a couple of them I haven't even bothered to dump.
2: Yes, but the naming will be all over the place.
3: Not that I know of, there might be, but the patcher is very buggy.

About the only thing on it that it does properly is patch the game. Good luck trying to get it to do anything else properly.

    1) Not sure actually, some have said it is up from the old limit of 80 though.

    2) Batch patching functionality was present in older versions of the client (you select multiple games in the select window). Not sure what goes with the new version as people tell me it is buggy. If you do not care about soft reset then most GBA save patching tools should do what you want.

    3) Grab romname.lst from the language directory of http://filetrip.net/nds-downloads/flashcart-files/download-ez4-client-2009-04-03-f31119.html and stick it in the language directory of whatever version you are using.
It should cover most games, some homebrew and even the betas/unreleased games that got leaked.
For batch there is no way to force input to output name, you can enter your own in the box in the top left but that is not going to work for batch stuff as you say.

I didn't think softreseting worked properly in the newer kernels. Then again, you know far more than me when it comes to this, I should give it a try. Also, thanks for the database update, even though it wasn't directed at me, I didn't know about that.

EDIT: Yep, the soft-reset patch works properly in the newest kernel. It wasn't a couple of revisions ago and I don't remember seeing it mentioned in a changelog. Oh well, it's great that it works. That means my power switch won't be getting as much of a workout.
