Hi all.

I have a ps3 slim that is hacked. Id like to get a external hdd to use for it. Spent a few hours googling and im finding conflicting results so figured id just ask you guys.

1. Usb powered or wall powered for the external hdd? does one work better than the other? Wall powered i can get more TB it seems.
2. Can i use say an 8 or 10 tb external hdd with the ps3?
3. With my xbox one i was limited to 2tb external hdd BUT i was able to plug in 2 at a time. Can i plug in multiple hard drives at a time to use with the ps3?
4. Alot of the files are about 4gb so can i use exfat or NTFS with the ps3?

My main goal is simply loading ps3 games and psn games from the external hdd.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi, I'll try to help you on that.

1. Since you can't use more than 2 TB with the PS3 (doesn't support GPT), you can safely use an usb powered 2.5" external hdd like I do myself
2. See 1
3. Backup managers like webMan can only mount 1 ntfs partition at a time, so I guess no
4. You can safely use NTFS with the PS3, it's the recommended way

Note that you can't load PSN Games from an external hdd as you must install them. You can try to convert them to ISO with PSN Liberator, but it never worked for me.

If you really need to store huge amount of games, you can try to use NETISO, it's a way to mount games on the PS3 from a computer on the network, useful if you have a NAS (note that your PS3 need to be connected with an ethernet cable and not Wifi or you'll experience longer loading times).

Anyway, install webMan and see if you want to load ISO from an NTFS drive or from the network.
