Hardware External Hard Drive for installing games

I have the opportunity to purchase a white wii u for a very good deal..
We usually only download games so we don't have to worry about discs getting scratched etc..
Since it has low internal memory, can I install games to an external hard drive?
Just making sure before I purchase..

Yes you can, but you have to be willing to dedicate the external hard drive just to the Wii U. You won't be able to share it with your computer or another Wii U.
