What steps you took on successfully formatting your console without losing the cfw (Luma or B9S)?

B9S is not lost in a system format, but I've been told the best way is to use TinyFormat. I just did it through the System Settings without a problem. You'll lose installed titles and your friend code (if it's not backed up prior to the restore) and have to relink your NNID, however.

Formatted successfully without any complications, but my Pokemon Sun still not working..

I don't think you can lose luma or B9S by formatting the console

Did you make sure to toggle game patching off in Luma?

Yup.. I'll try to install and run another extended memory game and see what happens.
