Game is being developed by Monster Games, Excite Truck developer. Will have robotic vehicles mixing the same racing style of it's predecessor with tricks and in-race mini games. According to Nintendo "You won't believe your eyes when you find yourself shooting goals, throwing pies and even playing poker in the middle of racing robotic animals and insects around off-road tracks". A six player online mode is also confirmed!

Boxart makes me think that this will be stupid.

I loved ExciteBike 64 & Excite Truck as well as other racers that Monster Games have done. This isn't the "top secret" game that I'd expected from them to be honest.

All I wanted was Excite Truck2. Free roaming options, online play and local four player.
All they had to do.

Now robots? What?

This is already starting to remind me of how new Sonic games go.
Reinvent what doesn't need to be reinvented for the hope of a quick buck of some poor kid that doesn't know better.

Really, poker during a race? Why? I wanna race, not play poker. Plus the two don't mix at all.
Unless you I dunno, collect items on the track... but that wouldn't be poker then, just item collecting.

Also did morphing enviroments get scrapped? That was the best.

Eh, I won't get my hopes up. Though I'd be happy if they suddenly released an ExciteTruck 2, making this just a spinoff. Then it'll be ok.

I really don't see this one doing well.
Trucks already appeal to kids as it is. Don't need robots.
Now, put the robots on the trucks instead of being the trucks and you have an instant winner.

Its like Nintendo told Monster games:
"You still have the code for excite truck, right?"
"Yeah, thats why we want to enhance it with online and four players.."
"Let me stop you right there. We say take what we have now and throw in some robots and mini games because this casual stuff is really hitting fast."
"But..."
"No buts. Just get to work."

This game looks like a crappified version of excite trucks to me.

This is far from casual IMO.. casual games are supposed to be simple and easy to play.. this looks like the most complex racing game I've ever seen

"Those tricks on Excite Truck were pretty simple.. we should do something crazier like make the trucks swing on a pole.. or throw pies.. or play poker! Why not? And since we're there.. why not change them into robots!?"
