It's not really that hard if you've played Wizardry 1 - 8 (the ONLY series that had good games for each iteration, 8 is one of the last great RPGs released in the last 8y or so), Might & Magic I - VII (VIII was iffy, and IX a trainwreck), The Bard's Tale I - III (the REAL Bard's Tale not that shitty game that Fargo(?) put out a couple eyars ago) & Dragon Wars, Wasteland, etc. ... and even some of the older jRPGs were fairly tough, although it was usually just a matter of grinding after moving along too quickly couple with unbalanced difficulty, usually ending up going from easy -> insane -> grind -> easy -> insane -> etc.
