I love CoD W@W as well. It lacked a lot of things but it still has special place in my heart/memory. Too bad it used Nintendo's service and is no longer online (unlike MWR, BO and MW3).
I wish there would be a remake on Wii U with additional maps and the other featured that were originally missing (like tanks). Throw in a commander mode (1 player per team) that can give orders with the Wii U gamepad and you would have sth noteworthy.

All of the CoDs can still be played online. Let them connect to Nintendo WFC and they will download a patch.

That's not correct. MW3, BO and MW3 never went offline, but W@W did. At least that's what I checked after Nintendo Wifi Connection was discontinued.
