Okay, i seriously just went to target to buy a new SD card because my old one wasn't working. i finally uninstalled homebrew and tried to reinstall it with this newer version since i havent touched my wii in months.

I used this zip file i found on youtube which is very popular and got homebrew installed. I ran load mii to load whatever that guy had in his wad...

I got this message: "It seems to me that you are a pirate. bye..."



but the thing is, on my wii, i have not been a pirate. On my DSi, sure i pirated tons of ROMs, i bought a flashcart for doing it. But on my wii, nothing is pirated... I have no VC games except a copy of Defend Your Castle that i bought forever ago before i even hacked my wii and all my real games are completely legit, bought at Best Buy. I only have like 5 or 6 of them.


How do i fix this and why did i get this?


EDIT: After searching i read that it might have to do with having a folder named wad in your sd card? Is that it? I completely forgot what that even is so id gladly remove it if thats whats causing it. All i want is gecko os so i can use some cheats on mario kart and stuff.

Remove every WAD from the SD card and use NandClean to "remove DVDX's present".

Well, according to this, the solution is simple, delete Backup Launcher, and use NANDClean to remove DVDX!

According to this next to nobody should get that error, only if you have that folder on your sd card or that ONE specific channel installed, you get the error. I knew it does not check for piracy, because that check would be more complicated than the app itself, but still...

last thing I remembered is might have something to do with IOS36 from cIOSCorp and SD:\CIOSCORP folder on your SD Card.

But that's only for HackMii Installer, I'm not sure about other apps.

That cant be right, I'v never had that directory, but I'v had the pirate error.

Check the src. I believe it's also checking for an installed Backup Launcher (Title id BWGL)

I recommend using WiiPower's tool instead if your trying to install a trucha patched IOS. Unlike dvdx3.4, it doesn't have any idiotic piracy checks and comes with full source code.

If you want dvdx, then just use the latest hackmii installer. It doesn't have the source available, but it doesn't have any idiotic piracy checks either.

Still though, you'll probably want to run nandclean to remove the dvdx3.4 "gift", because as if wasting the time to implement a piracy check isn't enough, it also puts a file as "/shared2/yarr" onto your NAND.

Exactly. It is easy enough to get the latest hackmii installer, run it and install DVDX in a matter of seconds.
