Hacking Erased Data

Ok, here is the problem.
When I turn on my DS with my R4 in, my data in my NDS is gone. (Name, date, birthday, time, and such.)
It does not do this all the time, but it sometimes happens. I do not mind much, but am wondering if I can fix it.

what games / homebrew have you started up? whats in your r4

Most strange. From what I know, data in the DS can only be entirely erased if the battery is removed. Make sure the battery is securely placed into the DS at all times, as hardware issues may cause the battery to "slip out" once in a while.

I doubt the R4 is the cause of this

No, I only have normal games, a SNES emulator, and DSOrganize.
It only happens when the R4 is in.

Word of Advice:
Don't use DSO. It corrupted my MicroSD twice in 2 days
