ElectronAVE Kit vs Arthrimus-style HDMI Mod Kit

Hey guys!

I've been meaning to kit-out my Wii over the last few years and am hoping to finally make the leap this summer to do some hardware mods. I was hoping to finally do a proper HDMI mod to get the best digital to digital output from the Wii, but am curious about the different kits.

I've seen some differing opinions on the matter, but what are the big differences (if any) between the ElectronAVE kit and the Arthrimus-style kits? The reason I say Arthrimus-style is because this is the most common kit found on websites like AliExpress, and though I would much rather support Arthrimus by buying through their website they've been out of stock for a while and aren't responding to messages.

Are there any big differences between the two besides install-styles? Or any other alternate kits I should know about? Any help would be appreciated.

They're both the same as they use GC Video as the base but as someone who's installed both, they're both a mess in their own way.

I installed AAVE first and it didn't work. Reading the comments, it's a common issue with the model I had and that I should have swapped resistors on it. AAVE has the pro of being more universal as it does not need unit specific ribbon cables. Sadly I gave up on this and probably damaged the thing after trying to fix it.

The clone of Arthrimus is kind of worse because it only works for later Wiis because they did not clone the ribbon cable of earlier Wiis. Annoyingly with this one, I had to also swap resistors and had to follow unofficial instructions to finish it. At least it works great with my Tink 4K.
