Hello!
I recently got a custom GBA built, and as a part of that custom build I got an EZ Flash Omega. While I've figured out how to get ROMS on the device, but adding games from the archives ive downloaded is proving a little more challenging than I thought. I downloaded a GB, GBC, and GBA zip archive, but have yet to completely unzip them all until I'm able to get them all on my device without issue. The zip archives I'm using all have the ROM files end in (U) before the extension, and this seems to mess with the flash and doesnt read the games. I'm hoping to find a way to easily unzip all the files (needs to be recursive) AND possibly modify the names at the same time to remove the (U) from the end of the ROM filenames. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

This is the sort of thing various ROM managers are made to handle. I always used to like http://offlinelist.free.fr/ myself but there are better options (some found http://www.advanscene.com/html/index.php ).
You can then rename ROMs to the setup of your choice.

That said brackets never really bothered older EZFlash gear and I don't recall it being a thing for the Omega I have. What is more likely a concern tends to be length of name -- get some 4 in 1 game that includes the full names of its contents and you can end up with many many characters that make little old embedded devices cry to have to decode several thousand of.

This seems like it could be pretty plausible for the reason, so I might need to check the filename length. I had seen some other places that perhaps double brackets or parentheses could be messing with something, so I removed the (U) and it had seemed to work. Probably confirmation bias on my end

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Booo.

same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in

    it's dumb

    Maybe.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.

Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
