ROM Hack Editting Save file - R4DS

twiztidsinz suggested that I post my problem here. I have one of the actual R4DSs while they were still in production.

Is it possible to edit the .sav file so that I could recover my deleted save data in the game. I haven't saved anything in the game yet. Below is the original post. How would I go about doing so.

Problem is that while playing RF2, instead of loading my save data while I was in the game, I deleted my save data instead. Is there anyway possible to open the .sav file and modify it so that the save data would be recovered. It is just a binary file, I wouldn't think that the game would actually overwrite everything when the save data is delete.

I have a copy of the save file right after I deleted it, a copy where I created save data for a new file, and a copy of when I deleted that. What tool can I use to read, edit, and compare the .sav files?
