It was only used a few times within it's first month purchase and then stored for 3 years.

How many of u guys/girls have scored awesome bargains like this before on ebay, specifically PS3's ?

    side note:

ps3's are flying of the virtual shelves like pancakes on ebay, especially since the release of the PS Jailbreak, my personal opinion.

as word spreads of the PS Jailbreak the original ps2 backwards compatible ps3's (cecha01) are gonna become even rarer...

It's eBay. They may have only said it was used just a few times, but...

But nothing. eBay favors the buyer and WILL get you a refund.

If the seller says "Does not accept returns." in the listing? They are still holding the responsibility to be truthful with the listing, and MUST accept returns if it's filed.

That's a great deal, though, DigitalDeviant.

I know but I wanted the ps3 with 4 usb ports and ps2 backwards compatibility.

also the seller has 100% feedback rating, and has offered money back guarantee on top of ebay gaurantee, so no worries here.

yeah but I will be so pissed if it turns out to be a sham, but with a seller with 100% positive feedback how's that possible?

I'm not suggesting it's a scam, but quite often you'll find people selling 'used items' as 'new', or well used items as 'hardly used'. It's the biggest thing about eBay which pisses me off.

I've been on eBay since 2001 and have over 800 feedback, so i've seen quite a few auctions.

800 feedback!? you have my respect, tk_saturn.

Don't mean to put you on the spot but with that experience and lets say wisdom have you been scammed before? And if so what did you do about it?

I'm willing to take that risk, since he's been consistent on each sell, and is offering money back, plus ebay buyer protection.

I've been scammed once, where someone asked me to pay by bank transfer. I got caught out as they had a high 100% feedback. What did I do? nothing, there wasn't anything I could do. Otherwise i've had tons items more used than stated and sellers who won't sell the item because they aren't happy with the price.

I have 4 pieces of advice:

    1. If it's high value, always ask the seller a slighly difficult question. You will get an idea of the sellers manner and how helpful they are.

    2. Be wary of bidding if the photo isn't an actual photo of the item you are buying

    3. Always use PayPal.

    4. And most important, always go through a cashback site. I don't know the American ones, but in the UK we use http://www.quidco.com and others. They give you 40% of all the sellers fees in cashback. I've brought a new 'but opened' Xbox 360 elite for £122.00 and got £4.75 in cashback. It builds up over time.

Thanks for your sharing your insight, I've never heard of this cashback thing before I'll have to look into that.

the hard drive is not that important since they are easy to replace (and cheaper than the used to be).

E-Bay WAS nice and fun a few years ago.
Now everybody thinks his junk is worth a goldmine.

There where days when you could purchase rare console stuff/games cheap, now it seems that any retro game you can find on every corner costs like 10 euro at least
I know times when you could buy rare games for like, 5 euro, most didn't know what the where selling, that all has changed :/

I rarely use e-bay anymore, i stopped selling on e-bay, and what i buy are mostly nintendo/microsoft points [IMG], or stuff my wife wants and does not find anywhere else.

you have a point. Theres a greater risk of faulty hardware because it is a first gen system, however there is a 60 gig ntsc PS3.

NO! Ebay rocks, you just have to buy from a top-rated seller with a feedback of 98-100%.
