    hey,

So Im looking to mod my old ps2 phat and really dont know where to start. If possible, I want to avoid soldering a modchip; (tho i dont mind opening my ps2 and inserting the chip if its solderless). I heard about the magic swap discs buts it sounds like it could get annoying. Also wheres a good place to buy?

    my requirements for a modchip
    1) solderless if possible for easy installation
    2) great compatibility for ps2 backups; (psx compatibility optional but a plus)
    3) Good place to buy and inexpensive (Im in TX)

There is a small possibility that im upgrading to a slim; if that happens, Im looking the same type of modchip requirements. Thanks!
